Was Pooka real?

Was Pooka real? The answer is yes! But the dog's name was NOT Pooka, or guided Anastasia on a Journey to the Past as her sign! In the palace, the Romanov children had many pets! They had cats, dogs, birds, and more! Anastasia's pet was a beautiful King Charles spaniel named Jimmy. Not a shaggy little runt named Pooka.

The royal children kept many pets at the Alexander Palace. Alexis and Olga owned cats. Their fashionable sister Tatiana had a French bulldog named Ortino. Marie adopted a mouse that lived in her bedroom wall. When one of their animals died, Anastasia and her sisters, and younger brother Alexis, buried it on an island in the middle of the palace lake. Their pets went with them into exile. Alexis' spaniel Joy accompanied the family to Ekaterinburg as did Anastasia's dog Jimmy. Joy survived its owner's murder. Jimmy was killed with the family in the cellar. Investigators found him at the bottom of an old mine shaft where the family's bodies were first hidden. Jimmy's corpse provided sad evidence that the children had perished with their parents.
